About the Artist
I am a person who learns, records, and communicates with the world in visual images. Few thrills compare to watching a production design emerge knowing all of the elements are in sync with one another under the leadership of a director with vision. While in production I find that I am able to make ten decisions at once whether I am pulling costumes, building an ensemble in a costume fitting, engaging with my acting company, or collaborating with my cutter/draper. During the course of a production the most essential component of my design’s ultimate success rests on building a strong trust and a positive working relationship with the performers. The ultimate objective of each of my designs is to create life that is capable of connecting each audience member to the characters and to one another.
